WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will appear in the 2018 South Point Thanksgiving Shootout as the field was announced on Tuesday. The 2018 tournament, set for November 23 and 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada includes a slate of eight squads: Arizona State, Baylor, Buffalo, Georgetown, Hartford, Louisville, South Dakota State and Southern Illinois.

The event will take place at the South Point Hotel and Casino. The tournament schedule and matchups will be announced at a later date.

Georgetown ended the 2017-18 season with a mark of 16-16 overall and 9-9 in the BIG EAST Conference. The team made history advancing to the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals for the first time in 19 seasons, and made it to the second round of the WNIT for the first time since 2009.

The squad graduated three seniors, but will have a solid core of players returning in 2018-19 as well as two available transfers and talented newcomers.
