WASHINGTON - Eleven members of the Georgetown University women's rowing team earned postseason recognition by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), led by Grace Calavan (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) and Chloe Schalit (Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley) with all-conference honors. Schalit also joined nine other Hoyas as CRCA National Scholar-Athletes.
Calavan and Schalit earned CRCA Patriot League All-Conference recognition. The 2018 Division I All-Conference Teams replace the previous all-region award given by the CRCA. These awards recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains from each Division I rowing conference. These athletes, along with others who compete at the NCAA Championships, will be eligible for 2018 All-America awards selection.
Joining Schalit as CRCA National Scholar-Athletes are Shelby Butt (Fort Worth, Texas), Angela Glazer (Princeton, N.J.), Alexandra Harron (Chicago, Ill./University of Chicago Lab School), Sophie Kershaw (Sacramento, Calif./St. Francis), Allie Phillips (Great Falls, Mont./Great Falls Central Catholic), Abigail Reinhold (Reston, Va./South Lakes), Isabel Rose (Cos Cob, Conn./Greenwich), Mara Sylvia (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) and Lily Tyndall (Harrisburg, N.C./Hickory Ridge). To qualify for Scholar-Athlete recognition, a rower must be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility, have rowed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or raced in a regional conference event and have had a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for her career through the fall semester/quarter for the current competition year.
