Zimmermann and Moenster Compete in Milwaukee Tennis Classic

WASHINGTON– Freshman Lindsay Zimmermann (Green Bay, Wis. / Hilton Head Preparatory) and sophomore Sofie Moenster (Oslo, Norway / Ordup Gymnasium) represented the Georgetown women's tennis team at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic over the weekend.
 
In the main draw, Zimmermann defeated Mayya Perova from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. She advanced to the round of 32 but lost to Miranda Ramirez of Syracuse University in three sets, after winning the first set, 6-2
 
Moenster dropped her first match, 6-2, 6-2, to Camila Romero of the University of Oklahoma.
 
In the doubles draw, Zimmermann and Moenster were edged by Cappuro and Romero from Oklahoma State University, 8-6.
 
The Hoyas will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 5 as they compete in the Morgan State Fall Invitational. The three day event will take place in Baltimore, Maryland.
