WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's golf team shaved off two strokes from its opening round to move into second place at the Wildcat Fall Invitational on Saturday in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The Hoyas shot a 288 for a two-round score of 578 and currently sit eight strokes behind the leader going into the final 18 holes on Sunday.
Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) and
Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) both shot even par on the day while
Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) and
Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) both carded a 73.
Will Rand (New York, N.Y. / Blair Academy [N.J.]) finished the round out of scoring consideration with a 75 while
Anthony Perrino (Concord, N.C. / The Canon School), playing as an individual, carded a 77.
DiPasquale currently sits tied for third place with a two-round score of 143. O'Neill is right behind him, tied for eighth at 144. Blochtein (146) and Councill (147) are still in the top-20 standings, tied for 16th and 20th, respectively. Perrino (148) is tied for 22nd and Rand (149) is tied for 26th.
Appalachian State continues to lead the field at 570, followed by Georgetown (578) and Delaware (580). Seton Hall (584) sits fourth, followed by a tie for fifth between St. John's (586) and VCU (586). Host Villanova (591) rounds out the teams in seventh place.
