WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team fell on the road at DePaul, 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-20), on Saturday night in Chicago in BIG EAST action. The Hoyas drop to 10-7 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Symone Speech (Oak Park, Ill. / Oak Park-River Forest) led all players with 15 kills in front of her hometown crowd while
Iva Vujosevic (Bar, Montenegro / Niko Rolovic) posted her eighth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 13 digs.
Defensively,
Kenzie Higareda (Woodbridge, Va. / Forest Park) led all players with 28 digs while
Jessica Cusi (Pacifica, Calif. / Lick-Wilmerding) added 13. At the net, Speech posted three blocks, including a pair of the solo variety.
Claire Anderson led DePaul with 12 kills and 16 digs while Avarie Evans-Allen added 10 kills.
Georgetown returns to action next weekend as it returns to the Midwest for another pair of BIG EAST matches. The Hoyas travel to take on Butler in Indianapolis on Friday, Oct. 5 before facing Xavier on Saturday, Oct. 6 in Cincinnati.
