– The Georgetown University football team hosts Campbell University on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Cooper Field in the team's home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., and live stats and a video stream, via the Patriot League Network, will be available at GUHoyas.com and on Facebook Watch.

The Hoyas (1-0) are coming off of a season-opening 39-14 victory at Marist

For their efforts, three Hoyas earned Patriot League weekly honors on Monday. Brown was named defensive player of the week, while placekicker Brad Hurst
(Helen, Ga. / White County) earned special teams player of the week honors and wide receiver Joshua Tomas
(University Park, Ill. / Crete-Monee) took home rookie of the week. Additionally, Johnson was an honorable mention selection.
Saturday will be the second meeting all-time between the two squads. Last fall, the Hoyas traveled down to Campbell and came away with a 16-10 victory in the season opener. Jelani Williamson

Campbell (1-0), which is entering its first season playing in the Big South Conference, is coming off a 49-26 victory over Division II Chowan University to open the season. Quarterback Daniel Smith accounted for 332 yards of total offense and five touchdowns, passing for 260 yards and three scores while rushing for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The offense totaled 462 yards and seven touchdowns, but also committed three turnovers on two interceptions and a fumble. The Camel defense forced two interceptions of its own and was led by Jack Ryan and Ray Miller with eight tackles apiece.
Following this weekend's game, Georgetown will head back on the road to open a stretch of three-straight games against Ivy League opponents. The Hoyas will play at Dartmouth on Saturday, Sept. 15, with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in Hanover, New Hampshire.
