WASHINGTON – The No. 20 Georgetown University men's soccer squad (2-1-1) will host the Yale University Bulldogs (1-1) on Sunday afternoon at Shaw Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. as the second game in a doubleheader with the women who will play at noon. Live stats as well as a webcast featuring alum Dan Helfrich will be available at

On Monday, sophomore forward
Derek Dodson (Aurora, Ill. / Waubonsie Valley) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in a 2-0 victory over Radford. Dodson scored both of GU's goals as the Hoyas cruised to victory. It marked the first honor roll award for the Blue & Gray this season and the second of his career.
Additionally, on Labor Day, the Hoyas played to a 1-1 double overtime draw with the then-No. 10 and reigning national champion Stanford Cardinal. Senior
Ethan Lochner (New York, N.Y. / Stuyvesant) scored in the 65th minute on a pass from freshman midfielder
Sean Zawadzki (Olmsted Falls, Ohio / Olmsted Falls) to move ahead before the Cardinal answered with a late goal in the 88th minute. It was Stanford's third-straight draw and marked the first goal Stanford has conceded in nine games as the Cardinal rides a 17-match unbeaten streak that carried over from a season ago.
Dodson is leading the team in scoring with six points on three goals on the year. He is followed by
Achara (Enugu, Nigeria / Berkshire School [Mass.]) who has three points on one goal and one assist. Lochner and senior midfielder
Kyle Zajec (Westport, Conn. / Staples) both have two points for the season and Zajec is leading the squad with a pair of helpers. In goal, freshman
Giannis Nikopolidis (Athens, Greece / Nea Genia Zirdi) has played all four games and tallied 15 saves with a 0.69 goals-against average.
The Bulldogs opened the season with two strong performances last weekend, a 1-0 victory over Niagara and a 2-1 loss to Fairfield, which played in the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Yale was scheduled to face Howard on Friday evening, but that contest was canceled due to inclement weather in the region.
The Hoyas are 0-1 all-time against the Bulldogs with the lone meeting coming in a neutral site contest at the Brown Invitational during the 1999 season. Georgetown lost the match, 2-1.
Kickoff for Sunday is scheduled for 3 p.m. follow the women's match against George Mason. Live stats as well as a webcast featuring alum Dan Helfrich will be available at
