WASHINGTON – Georgetown University volleyball's senior outside hitter
Iva Vujosevic was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Vujosevic led the Hoyas to a 1-2 record on the week in league play.
The Hoyas (12-10, 2-6 BIG EAST) went 1-2 on the week, falling to St. John's in midweek action before splitting the weekend against DePaul and No. 12 Marquette. The Hoyas' 3-2 win over the Blue Demons snapped a five-match losing streak. Georgetown has played seven five-set matches this season, posting a 3-4 record after going the distance. Four of GU's seven BIG EAST matches have gone five sets and both of the Blue & Gray's league wins are in five sets.
Vujosevic posted three-straight double-digit kills matches on the week. She had 16 kills, eight digs, five blocks and three service aces in a 3-1 loss to St. John's. In a 3-2 win over DePaul, Vujosevic recorded a career-high 29 kills to go with 11 digs for a double-double in the victory, her seventh double-double of the season. Closing out the week, she added 11 kills against No. 12 Marquette in a 3-0 loss.
Georgetown returns to the Midwest for a pair of matches this weekend, taking on Xavier on Friday, Oct. 25 in Cincinnati before facing Butler on Sunday, Oct. 27 in Indianapolis.
