WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team heads out to the Midwest for a pair of BIG EAST matches this weekend. The Hoyas travel to Cincinnati to face Xavier on Friday, Oct. 25 before taking on Butler on Sunday, Oct. 27 in Indianapolis.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Xavier
• Georgetown is 2-14 all-time against Xavier (7-11, 4-4 BIG EAST), but dropped a hard-fought five-set decision to the Musketeers three weeks ago.
• Three Hoyas had double-doubles in the loss, with Vujosevic posting 12 kills and 15 digs, Plutnicki adding 37 assists and 15 digs with Barbosa chipping in 17 kills and a career-high 24 digs. Cusi matched Barbosa's team high with 24 digs and Chen added 18. Snipe posted a career-high 15 kills.
• Kelly Franxman led the Musketeers with 11 kills. Ellie Chaffee and Moriah Hopkins both added 10. Carrigan O'Reilly had a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs. Madi Kutruff posted a match-best 33 digs.
• Three Xavier players average at least two kills a set, led by Lauren Hanlon with 2.56 kps. Norah Painter and Hopkins chip in 2.21 and 2.16 kps, respectively.
• Xavier runs a 6-2 offense, with Ailsa Watson and O'Reilly posting 5.18 and 5.19 aps, respectively.
• Defensively, Kutruff averages 3.56 dps. At the net, Jayda Carlton averages over a block a frame with 1.22 bps.
Butler
• Georgetown is 3-11 all-time against Butler, with all three victories coming in the past two seasons. The Hoyas dropped a tough five-set decision to the Bulldogs to open October.
• Vujosevic and Plutnicki both posted double-doubles for the Hoyas in the loss with
Elissa Barbosa narrowly missing a third.
• Vujosevic led all players with 23 kills and added 17 digs while Plutnicki had 37 assists and 13 digs. Barbosa added 13 kills and nine digs from the outside.
Jessica Cusi led all players with 22 digs and
Kelly Chen chipped in 12.
• Anna Logan led the Bulldogs with 17 kills and 15 digs. Brooke Gregory added 15 kills and Melody Davidson chipped in 10.
• Butler (8-12, 5-3 BIG EAST) hosts Villanova on Friday before welcoming the Hoyas to the Hoosier State.
• Logan leads the Bulldogs with 2.70 kps while Gregory adds 2.37. Megan Ramseyer paces the offense with 8.80 aps.
• Defensively, Elizabeth LaBue anchors the back row with 4.76 dps while Davidson adds 1.18 bps at the net.
