WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought five-set decision to visiting Butler in BIG EAST action on Friday evening at McDonough Arena. With the loss the Hoyas fall to 11-6 overall and 1-2 in league play.
Butler 3, Georgetown 2 (25-15, 25-23, 21-25, 20-25, 15-12)
• Georgetown battled back from a two-set deficit to force a deciding fifth frame but could not complete the comeback.
• The marathon match was the second five set thriller in the first three BIG EAST matches of the season for the Hoyas.
• Butler won its first match over the Hoyas since 2017.
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS

Iva Vujosevic and
Emma Plutnicki both posted double-doubles for the Hoyas with
Elissa Barbosa narrowly missing out on a third.
• Vujosevic led all players with 23 kills and added 17 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
• Plutnicki's sixth double-double, consisting of 37 assists and 13 digs, is her team-leading sixth of the year.
• Barbosa added 13 kills and nine digs from the outside.

Jessica Cusi led all players with 22 digs and
Kelly Chen chipped in 12.
• Vujosevic and Chen each had a pair of service aces for the Blue & Gray.
BUTLER NOTES
• Butler improves to 5-10 overall and 2-1 in BIG EAST play.
• Anna Logan led the Bulldogs with 17 kills and 15 digs.
• Brooke Gregory added 15 kills and Melody Davidson chipped in 10.

Georgetown returns to action tomorrow afternoon against Xavier at 3 p.m. The showdown against the Musketeers will also serve as Georgetown's DIG PINK! match.
