WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team fell in five sets to visiting Xavier in BIG EAST action on Saturday. With the loss the Hoyas fall to 11-7 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Xavier 3, Georgetown 2 (23-25, 26-24, 25-20, 20-25, 15-8)
• The match was the third five-set marathon in the first four BIG EAST contests of the season for Georgetown.
• Xavier won its first match over the Hoyas since 2017.
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
• Georgetown collected 104 digs in the match, posting a season-high for all BIG EAST teams.

Iva Vujosevic led the Hoyas with 12 kills and 15 digs for her sixth double-double of the season.

Emma Plutnicki added her seventh double-double of the year with 37 assists and 15 digs while
Elissa Barbosa notched 17 kills and a career-high 24 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.

Jessica Cusi matched Barbosa's team high with 24 digs and
Kelly Chen added 18.
•
Margo Snipe posted a career-high 15 kills.
XAVIER NOTES
• Xavier improved to 5-9 overall and 2-2 in BIG EAST play.
• Kelly Franxman led the Musketeers with 11 kills. Ellie Chaffee and Moriah Hopkins both added 10 kills.
• Carrigan O'Reilly had a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs.
• Madi Kutruff posted a match-best 33 digs.
