No. 5 Georgetown Hosts Lehigh on Tuesday

WASHINGTON – The No. 5 Georgetown University men's soccer team will host the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks on Tuesday in a 3 p.m. matchup at Shaw Field.  The Hoyas are currently 7-1-1 on the season with two nonconference games remaining, while Lehigh is 7-2-1 overall.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown is coming off a 0-0 double overtime draw at DePaul on Friday.  The Blue & Gray held a 24-8 advantage in shots and a 15-2 margin in corners, but could not find the back of the net in 110 minutes played.  It marked GU's first tie of the season.
  • Junior captain Derek Dodson leads the team in scoring with 11 points on three goals and five assists.  He is followed by sophomore Zach Riviere with four goals and one assist for nine points.
  • Two players have eight points as Paul Rothrock has a goal and a squad-high six assists and Jacob Montes has four goals.
  • The Hoyas will play three games in seven days as the squad faces Lehigh on Tuesday and hosts Seton Hall on Friday in a BIG EAST Conference matchup.  On Monday, the Blue & Gray will make the short trip to College Park, Md., to take on the University of Maryland Terps in a 7 p.m. contest televised live on FS1.
  • The two nonconference games will close out non-league action for the Hoyas.
 
About the Mountain Hawks
  • Lehigh is riding a five-game unbeaten streak going into Tuesday's matchup.
  • Similar to the Hoyas, Lehigh's last game was a double overtime scoreless tie against Army West Points on Saturday.
  • The Mountain Hawks defeated Seton Hall 1-0 earlier in the 2019 season, Georgetown will host the Pirates on Friday.
  • Josh Luchini is leading Lehigh in scoring with nine goals for 18 points on the year.  He has managed three games winners for the season.
 
Series with Lehigh
  • The Hoyas are 2-0 all-time against the Mountain Hawks with both wins coming at home.
  • The last meeting was a 2-1 Georgetown victory during the storied 2012 campaign.
  • The first contest in the series was a 6-1 Hoya win in 1997.
