WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's basketball center
Omer Yurtseven was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday following a 2-0 week for the Hoyas to open the season.
Yurtseven posted a pair of double-doubles in as many games to open the season. He averaged 18.5 points and 13.5 rebounds after a 20-point, 12-rebound effort against Mount St. Mary's and a 17-point, 15-board performance versus Central Arkansas. The senior shot 73.7 percent from the floor and 81.8 percent from the foul line for the week.
This is Yurtseven's first nod to the honor roll of his career and the first of the season for the Blue & Gray.

The Hoyas will host Penn State at Capital One Arena on Thursday, Nov. 14 as part of the 2019 Gavitt Tipoff Games, the annual early-season series between the BIG EAST and Big Ten Conferences. Tipoff against the Nittany Lions is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FS1 and fans can listen locally on The Team 980.
