WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (25-11, 20-25, 25-14, 25-17) decision at No. 9 Marquette on Friday night in BIG EAST action. The Hoyas fall to to 13-16 overall and 3-12 in league play.
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
•
Elissa Barbosa led the Hoyas with 11 kills and added 11 digs for a double-double. She added a team-high three service aces as well.
•
Iva Vujosevic chipped in eight kills while
Margo Snipe had six and
Peyton Wilhite added five.
•
Margo Pivonka collected 17 assists and just missed out on a double-double with nine digs.
Ellie Watkins was just off the team lead with 16 assists.
• On the defensive end,
Jessica Cusi had 15 digs to lead the Hoyas and Vujosevic joined her and Barbosa in double-digits with 10 digs.
• At the net,
Makayla Serrett was credited with four blocks, contributing on all but one for the Blue & Gray in the match.
MARQUETTE NOTES
• The Golden Eagles improved to 24-3 overall and 14-1 in the BIG EAST standings.
• Allie Barber led Marquette with 22 kills while Hannah Vanden Berg and Hope Werch both had 11.
• Vanden Berg and Werch also each tallied double-doubles, notching 15 and 12 digs, respectively.

Georgetown continues its Midwest road swing as it faces DePaul on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET in Chicago.
