Hoyas Close Out 2019 Campaign

 
WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team wraps up the 2019 season with a pair of matches this weekend. The Hoyas travel to St. John's for their road finale on Friday before welcoming Seton Hall to the Hilltop for the season finale on Sunday.
 
QUICK HITS
  • Georgetown is 13-17 overall and 3-13 in BIG EAST play.
  • The Hoyas went 0-2 last weekend, dropping a pair of 3-1 decisions at No. 9 Marquette and DePaul.
  • Sunday's showdown with Seton Hall will be Senior Day, where the Hoyas recognize Charlotte Kelly, Margo Snipe and Iva Vujosevic for their contributions to the program.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
St. John's
  • The Red Storm are 19-10 overall and 11-5 in the BIG EAST standings.
  • St. John's has won five-straight matches and defeated the Hoyas 3-1 in D.C. in October.
  • Vujosevic led the Hoyas with 16 kills while Elissa Barbosa added nine. Snipe and Serrett added six and five kills, respectively, with neither player committing a hitting error.
  • Kelly Chen anchored the Hoya back row with 14 digs.
  • Efrosini Alexakou led the Red Storm with 20 kills to go with 10 digs for a double-double. Erica Di Maulo had a double-double as well with 36 assists and 15 digs.
  • Alexakou leads SJU with 4.21 kps while Rachele Rastelli and Klara Mikelova add 3.83 and 2.57 kps, respectively.
  • Di Maulo paces the St. John's offense with 10.15 aps and Amanda Sanabia anchors the back row with 3.98 dps.
 
Seton Hall
  • The Pirates are 7-23 overall and 2-14 in BIG EAST play.
  • Seton Hall has lost 11-straight matches with their last victory coming in a 3-0 win over the Hoyas in October.
  • Barbosa led the Hoyas with eight kills while Kelly posted a career-high six. Snipe and Vujosevic both had five each.
  • Cusi collected nine digs to anchor the back row, Jewell Johnson was credited with three blocks and Peyton Wilhite had two.
  • Haylee Gasser led the Pirates with nine kills while Amanda Rachwal added eight.
  • Eden Dolezal hauled in 10 digs to lead all players.
  • Gasser leads the Pirates with 289 kps while Rachwal and Julia Wilkins add 2.30 and 2.21 kps, respectively.
  • Raygan Murray paces the defense with 3.87 dps.
