WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Peyton Wilhite was named to the inaugural BIG EAST Volleyball All-Freshman Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Wilhite is the seventh Hoya to garner the honor in program history and the first since 2000 when the award, then-known as the All-Rookie Team, was discontinued.

In her first season on the Hilltop, Wilhite averaged 1.84 kills and 0.48 blocks per set from the right side while hitting at a .187 clip. She started 15 matches on the year, including 13 in BIG EAST play.

Wilhite tallied double-digit kills in five matches, including a career-high 18 in a five-set loss at Xavier. She also had 15 in a 3-2 victory over DePaul, 14 against Stony Brook in nonconference play, 11 at Butler and 10 at Villanova. Her nine kills at a .381 clip with five blocks at No. 9 Creighton in the opening weekend of league action helped establish her as one of the top rookies in the league.

Georgetown concluded the 2019 campaign with a 13-19 overall record. The Hoyas have recorded back-to-back seasons with at least 13 wins for the first time since 2010-11.
