About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown will be starting a new lineup after losing a pair of 1,000-point scorers from a season ago.
  • The Hoyas had extra time to train together this preseason after traveling to Spain for 10 days in August.  The squad played three games in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.
  • GU's top returner is captain Brianna Jones who was Georgetown's fourth-leading scorer a season ago and averaged 4.3 ppg as well as 2.9 rpg in 35 games played.
  • At point guard, sophomore Nikola Kovacikova averaged 4.0 ppg and also played in all 35 games.  She managed 35 assists on the year.
  • Kovacikova spent part of her summer training with the Slovakian National Team
  • Also returning is senior and two-time captain Anita Kelava who played in all 35 games with 31 starts.  Kelava averaged 3.2 ppg and 4.6 rpg to rank third on the squad.  She also led the team in blocks with 54 last season.
  • GU has added two players to the roster along with two freshmen.  Taylor Barnes is a graduate transfer from Memphis and Jillian Archer comes to the Hilltop from USC.  Barnes is eligible to play immediately, but Archer will be sitting out this season per NCAA transfer rules.
  • The newcomers on the roster include freshmen Graceann Bennett from Lake George, New York and Olivia Snyder from Center Valley, Pennsylvania.

  • Davidson is opening the season up against a BIG EAST school for the first time in program history.
  • The team was selected to finish fifth in the Atlantic 10 as juniors Sarah Donovan and Katie Turner garnered preseason honors.
  • Davidson tied for fourth place a season ago and fell in the first round of the WNIT to Marshall to end the 2018-19 campaign.
  • The 'Cats are in their sixth year in the Atlantic 10 after a 21-year run in the SoCon.

Series History
  • This will be the first meeting between the squads.
