Hoya Volleyball Camps Registration Now Open

WASHINGTON – Georgetown Volleyball Head Coach Toby Rens has announced that registration for the 2019 Hoya Volleyball Camps is now open. Four separate camps, running from July 8 – 25, will be offered for different age groups and skill levels.

The camps, which take place at Georgetown's McDonough Arena, are run by the Georgetown coaching staff and current players, as well as additional area collegiate, club and high school coaches.

The Serve & Pass Camp is designed to train players ages 8-18. Serving and receiving serve are the most important parts of the game of volleyball. The camp will help develop and perfect the fundamental skills needed to be confident and successful when it comes to serving and passing. During this volleyball camp, focus is on technique in order to prepare for the most important contacts of the game. Campers will be divided into groups according to age/skill level. The Serve & Pass Camp takes place Monday, July 8 through Tuesday, July 9.

The Setting & Hitting Camp is designed to train players ages 8-18. Train and become a proficient setter in a camp designed to develop footwork and perfect hands in order to run a successful offense. The hitting camp is designed to help improve the technical game when it comes to every aspect of hitting. From approach, arm swing/speed and shot selection, all hitters will get a number of repetitions in order to become a successful attacker on the court. All hitting positions will be trained. The camp will run from Wednesday, July 10 through Thursday, July 11.

The All Skills Camp is designed to train players ages 8-18. This camp is designed for beginner players as well as experienced volleyball players. The camp works on all skill sets of the game as well as focusing on fundamentals to teach those players who are just learning or those looking to return to their teams in the fall, better than the year before. Players will be divided by position in order to work on specific skills sets. This will allow campers to focus on certain skills in order to become more competitive. Campers will also be divided into teams in order to practice implementing various skill sets in the game of volleyball. The camp will run from Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.

The Elite College Prospect Camp is designed to train players ages 14-18. This camp is designed to help defensive specialists & liberos focus on technical training to perfect their passing and defense on the court. Each camper will have numerous reps to ensure they are confident when it comes to all aspects of ball control in the game.

There will also be an Elite Skills Camp for those players looking for a high energy and fast-paced camp. This elite camp is designed for high level and highly skilled athletes looking to prepare for the high school season or prepare you for the start of their college career. We will touch on every aspect of the game as well as place athletes in game-like situations to ensure they are well versed all-around players at the top of their game. The camp will run from Monday, July 22 through Thursday, July 25.
