WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's heavyweight rowing team begins its spring season as it sends a pair of boats to the Princeton Annual Scrimmage, hosted by Princeton. The Hoyas will faceoff against the Tigers on Lake Carnegie.
The men will hit the water for two races on the day. The first race will feature the first varsity boats beginning at 8 a.m. Serving as the coxswain will be
William Rau (Devon, Pa.) followed by
Douglas Dreyer (Manhasset, N.Y.) at stroke,
Daniel Eigler-Harding (Arlington, Va.),
Clemente Borgogni (Rye, N.Y.),
Ian Estevao (Arlington, Va.),
Emmett Orts (Philadelphia, Pa.),
Luke Nassif (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.),
Jack Mozingo (Darien, Conn.) and
Justin English (Bettendorf, Iowa).
Starting at 8:15 a.m., the second race will be a battle of the second varsity crews. In that boat will be
Maxim Goohs (Potomac, Md.) as the coxswain,
Owen O'Brien Powers (Portland, Ore.) at stroke, followed by
Tripp Cave (Dallas, Texas),
Gavin Lafferty (Jenkintown, Pa.),
Vincent Zhu (Orlando, Fla.),
Joe O'Brien (Havertown, Pa.),
Zach Lee (Chelsea, Mich.),
Thomas Kolnik (Sewell, N.J.) and
Blake Sassaman (Winnetka, Ill.).
Following Saturday's race, the Hoya heavyweights will return to the water on Wednesday, April 3 for a showdown against Marietta College on the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. The lightweights return on Saturday, April 6 as they compete against Yale in Derby, Connecticut.
