WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's golf team carded a final round score of 282, its best round of the tournament, to finish tied for ninth at the FAU Spring Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida on Sunday. The Hoyas carded rounds of 295, 287 and 282 for 864.
Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla. / Spanish River) finished the tournament tied for 12th with rounds of 74, 68 and 68 for a 211 total.
Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C. / Westchester Country Day) tied for 21st after carding rounds of 71, 71 and 73 for a 215.
Will O'Neill (Morristown, N.J. / Morristown) tied for 48th with a 221 after shooting 79, 72 and 70 while
Patrick DiPasquale (Rochester, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit) tied for 60th with rounds of 71, 76 and 77 with a 224. Rounding out the team,
Taso Scilaris (Bethesda, Md. / Walter Johnson) shot his best round of the season on Sunday with a 70 to finish tied for 76th at 235.
Central Florida (829) won the event with host Florida Atlantic (838) finishing second. Southern Illinois (849) was third, followed by Houston Baptist (853) and Florida Gulf Coast (853) tied for fourth. Bethune-Cookman (855) was sixth while UConn (860) and Miami (Ohio) tied for seventh to round out the teams that shot under-par for the weekend. Georgetown (864) and George Mason (864) closed things out even-par while Rhode Island (876), Hartford (884), Murray State (884) and Xavier (897) rounded out the field.
The Hoyas return to action next weekend at the Princeton Invitational on April 6-7.
