Box Score WASHINGTON– The Georgetown University women's tennis team fell to Lynn University 7-0 on Monday afternoon to close out the Hoyas' Florida road swing. With the loss, GU drops to 2-9 while the Fighting Knights remain undefeated and improve to 8-0.
In doubles, Lynn went three for three, clinching the first team point of the day after Leolia Jeanjean and Natalia Siedliska defeated the pair of
Sydney Goodson (Great Falls, Va. / Langley) and
Risa Nakagawa (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula) 6-2 at No. 1.
The Fighting Knights continued their winning streak and clinched the match at 4-0 at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Nakagawa.
Anna Short (Birmingham, Mich. / Cranbrook Kingswood) and
Cecilia Lynham (Chevy Chase, Md. / Holton Arms School) played out their matches at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively and with the outcome decided,
Renee Repella (Lansdale, Pa. / Germantown Academy) fell to her opponent at No. 6 in the pro set 8-1.
GU will return home on Tuesday, March 12 to face off against Temple at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland. The match is scheduled for 9 a.m. and a live stream will be available on GUHoyas.com.
