Julia Chu and James O’Sullivan Earn All-BIG EAST Second Team Honors

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's Julia Chu and James O'Sullivan were named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, as announced by the league on Thursday.

  • Chu earned the unanimous distinction after posting a 10-6 singles record this season in No. 2 singles and a 5-3 singles record in the fall. She secured three singles victories at the ITA Regionals in October through the qualifying and consolation brackets.
  • She held a 5-2 mark against conference competition, including a win over second team selection Chloe Lomans (UConn).
  • Chu achieved an 8-2 record in doubles during the spring and a 4-2 record in the fall. She went 7-1 in matches alongside Ruhika Bhat.
 
James O'Sullivan | All-BIG EAST Second Team | So. | Nice, France
  • O'Sullivan closed the year with 22 total wins across singles and doubles in the fall and spring.
  • At the No. 2 singles spot, he recorded a 9-11 mark in the spring, including a 5-3 record against BIG EAST opponents. He picked up wins over BIG EAST Player of the Year David Petrovic (St. John's) and second team selection Kirtan Patel (Creighton).
  • The sophomore logged an 8-9 doubles record in the spring, with seven wins of those wins coming beside Joshua Lamm-Bocharov at the No. 2 spot.
  • O'Sullivan was named the BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week once and was part of the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week twice, alongside Lamm-Bocharov and Burke Pablo.
