WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University sailing team finished its opening weekend of the spring season with an undefeated record at the GW Team Race at George Washington, going 15-0 and defeating five other teams. The Hoyas also sailed in the Bob Bavier Team race hosted by the College of Charleston and the ODU Spring Women's Regatta hosted by Old Dominion.
GW Team Race (March 2-3; Arlington, Va.)
In the first team race league qualifier of the season, the Blue & Gray picked up valuable points towards qualifying for the conference championship with an undefeated first place finish despite shifty breezes and many course adjustments. In three round robins across Saturday and Sunday, the Hoyas finished with a perfect 15-0 record.
The Blue & Gray placed first in front of five other teams, including George Washington, St. Mary's College, Penn, Cornell and Christopher Newport. For the Hoyas,

ODU Spring Women's (March 2-3; Norfolk, Va.)
The Georgetown women's sailing team placed eighth out of 13 teams at the ODU Spring Women's Regatta despite harsh sailing conditions. The Hoyas finished with a total of 168 points, putting them behind Northeastern with 160 points and ahead of Old Dominion with 176 points.
The A Division sailors finished 10th in its division with 107 points and consisted of
Carly Broussard (Newport, R.I. / Kentucky Country Day) and
Olivia van den Born (Greenwich, Conn. / Choate Rosemary Hall). The B Division placed third with 61 points and was represented by
Morgan Sailer (Annapolis, Md. / St. George's) and
Celine Bennett (San Anselmo, Calif. / Marin Academy). The B Division saw three first place finishes in its 12 races.

The Blue & Gray battled difficult weather conditions and top-tier competition to place sixth in the Bob Bavier Team Race at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex over the weekend. Georgetown finished the regatta with a 10-9 record after finishing the first two rounds even at 8.
