White and Adomako Named All-BIG EAST

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's basketball players Dionna White (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill) and Dorothy Adomako (Midlothian, Va. / Cosby) both earned BIG EAST Conference awards on Wednesday when the league announced its postseason honorees. White was named to the first team, while Adomako was a second team honoree.  They are now two of just four players in program history to earn four career All-BIG EAST awards joining WNBA All-Stars Rebekkah Brunson and Sugar Rodgers.

White finished her BIG EAST regular season career ranked among the all-time leaders in scoring (10th, 1,175 points), field goals made (17th, 420), field goals attempted (4th, 1,057) and steals (3rd, 201).  Overall, she is among the NCAA active career leaders in steals (4th, 342) as well as the No. 2 overall points leader (1,939) and holds the program's record for career steals (342).

White is currently leading the Hoyas in scoring with 16.0 ppg and is second in rebounds with 7.4 rpg. Along with her 79 steals, she is leading the team in assists with 93.  White was a Preseason All-BIG EAST honoree and was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on December 31 and February 25 to go along with two nods to the honor roll.

This is White's fourth-consecutive All-BIG EAST honor and her second nod to the first team.

Adomako had an impressive comeback season after missing all of 2017-18, posting the best season of her career in terms of scoring and rebounding.  In BIG EAST play, Adomako averaged 17.9 ppg and 8.6 rpg to rank third and fifth in the league, respectively.  The graduate student managed seven double-doubles this season and also leads the conference in blocks with 1.9 per game. She was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on February 4 and earned four nods to the weekly honor roll.

She is second on the team in scoring overall with 15.0 ppg and a squad-best 8.1 rpg to go along with 48 blocks and 48 steals.  Her 1,672 career points rank her fourth on the all-time list and she is also among the program's top 10 in both blocks (3rd, 132) and rebounds (6th, 787).

This is Adomako's fourth-career All-BIG EAST honor and her second nod to the second team after earning a pair of honorable mentions.

Ending the season on a four-game win streak, the Hoyas earned the No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament presented by Jeep and will face the fifth-seeded Villanova Wildcats on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The opening tip is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. The quarterfinal game will be broadcast live on FS2. Live stats will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
