HANOVER, Md. - The Georgetown University baseball team received a career-high seven strikeouts from

Redfern also set a career high with 5.0 innings pitched, making his second start of the season. He only allowed one run on four hits and two walks to go along with the seven strikeouts.
Angelo Tonas (Hillsborough, Calif. / Sacred Heart Prep) struck out one in two scoreless innings.
Chase Walter (Winston-Salem, N.C. / Forsyth Country Day School) picked up his first career win with an inning of work and

Eddie McCabe (Norwalk, Conn. / Norwalk) led the GU offense with four hits and also scored a run.
Ryan M. Davis (Danville, Calif. / San Ramon Valley) had three hits, including a double and a triple, and an RBI.
Kyle Ruedisili (Jupiter, Fla. / The Benjamin School / Washington and Lee University) and
Ryan Weisenberg (Parkland, Fla. / San Ramon Valley [Calif.]) each had two hits with a double and an RBI.
The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when McCabe led off with a single, went to second on a ground out and scored when
Freddy Achecar III (Atlanta, Ga. / Lovett School) tripled into the left-center field gap. Weisenberg followed with an RBI single to score Achecar and give GU a 2-0 lead.
Coppin State got a run back in the fifth inning, but Redfern stranded the tying run on third with his seventh strikeout. The Eagles eventually tied the game with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Hoyas responded with two runs in the top of the ninth. Weisenberg led off with a double and went to third on a wild pitch. After a walk, Ruedisili laid down a perfect safety squeeze to score
James Gabor (Wyndmoor, Pa. / William Penn Charter School), who had pinch run for Weisenberg. Davis then lined a triple into the right-center field gap to drive in
Alex Rosen (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) and give Georgetown a much-needed insurance run, 4-2.
Coppin State scored a run in the bottom of the ninth off Grzebinski, but a strikeout stranded the tying run on first base to seal the 4-3 victory.
