WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team turned in a 305 in Sunday's final round, but it was not enough to catch Xavier as the Hoyas finished second at the 2019 BIG EAST Championship presented by Jeep at the Callawassie Island Golf Club in Callawassie, South Carolina. Christina Parsells (Bernardsville, N.J. / Kent Place) placed third overall with a 10-over par 225.
Georgetown finished the 54-hole tournament with a 52-over par 916, 14 strokes behind Xavier (+38). The Hoyas maintained a slight edge over Seton Hall (+54), which placed third, while St. John's (+75), Creighton (+94) and Butler (+127) rounded out the rest of the field.
Parsells was tied for fourth after 36 holes and moved up a spot to third with a 75 on Sunday. She had two birdies and shot 1-under par on the back nine.

Ashley Fitzgibbons (Sammamish, Wash. / Eastlake Senior) was also in the top 10, her third-consecutive top-10 finish at the BIG EAST Championship, as she carded a 13-over par 229 to place seventh.

Pendleton Bogache (Myrtle Beach, S.C. / Episcopal [Va.]) finished 12th at 17-over par 233 while sophomore
Elizabeth Nguyen (Pinehurst, N.C. / Pinecrest) was one stroke behind her at 18-over par 234, tying for 13th. Senior
Alexa Popowitz (Boca Raton, Fla. / St. Andrew's) moved up two spots on Sunday with a 75 to finish in 17th place at 22-over par.
