WASHINGTON – At the conclusion of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Coed Conference Championship, hosted by Navy over the weekend, seven additional Hoya sailors received All-MAISA honors and two Hoyas were recognized as major All-MAISA award recipients.
Senior
Andy Reiter (San Diego, Calif. / Point Loma) and juniors
William Logue (Cos Cob, Conn. / St. George's) and
Sean Segerblom (Costa Mesa, Calif. / Newport Harbor) were named to the First Team All-MAISA Skippers.
Earning All-MAISA Crews were seniors
Rebecca Fung (Rye, N.Y. / Rye),
Claire Mohun (San Francisco, Calif. / Convent of the Sacred Heart) and
Haley Shea (Rye, N.Y. / Rye Country Day) and sophomore
Caroline Teare ( St. Thomas, Virgin Islands / Antilles School).
Segerblom was named the Coed Sailor of the Year while Fung earned the Crew of the Year recognition.
The Blue & Gray finished fourth over the weekend for the America Trophy at Navy to advance to the Coed National Championships and during the previous weekend, the women's sailing team finished seventh at the MAISA Spring Women's Championship to qualify for the Sperry College Sailing Women's National Championship. Both championships will be held in Newport, Rhode Island later this month.
