WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's men's rowing team hit the water over the weekend at the Eastern Sprints in Lake Quinsigamond, Massachusetts. The Hoyas put together a trio of lightweight 8+ crews while the heavyweights raced two 8+ boats and a 4+ squad.
On the heavyweight side, the 4+ boat posted a third place finish in the Grand Final with a time of 7:00.6 while both 8+ crews battled tough competition in their opening heats to move on to their respective Third Finals. The varsity 8+ crossed the finish line in 6:50.6 to finish third in their final race while the second varsity 8+ finished fourth in 7:01.6.
The top lightweight 8+ squad advanced to the Grand Final, finishing sixth with a time of 6:46.4. Both the second and third lightweight 8+ teams posted second place finishes in the Petite Finals. The 2VL8 crossed the line in 6:58.5 while the 3VL8 finished in 7:00.6.
