WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team will see its first action away from the friendly confines of McDonough Arena as it travels to take part in the 2019 Colonial Classic, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia this weekend. The Hoyas face Iona in the tournament opener on Friday, Sept. 13 before taking on UNC Greensboro and the host Tribe on Saturday, Sept. 14.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
• Georgetown has history with all three opponents at the Colonial Classic, boasting a 12-6 combine record against trio.
• The Hoyas are 2-0 all-time against Iona with four-set wins in 2007 and 2013.
• Iona (0-7) is looking for its first win of the season and has won just one set on the year.
• Jamie Smith leads the Gaels with 2.36 kps.
• Georgetown and UNCG have only met once before, a 3-1 Hoya victory in 2009.
• The Spartans are 5-2 to start the 2019 season but is coming off of a midweek loss to Duke.
• Holly Behrends leads UNCG with 3.26 kps with three other Spartans adding at least two a frame.
• Georgetown and William & Mary have played 15 times before in program history with the Hoyas owning a 9-6 series advantage.

Following the Colonial Classic, Georgetown returns home once again to host the 2019 Hoya Invitational on the Hilltop. The Blue & Gray welcomes Binghamton, Florida International and Morgan State to the Nation's Capital on Sept. 20-21. The weekend will also serve as Alumni Weekend for the Hoyas and Georgetown's first NCAA Tournament team from 1998 will be celebrated on Saturday.
