WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team will see its first action away from the friendly confines of McDonough Arena as it travels to take part in the 2019 Colonial Classic, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia this weekend. The Hoyas face Iona in the tournament opener on Friday, Sept. 13 before taking on UNC Greensboro and the host Tribe on Saturday, Sept. 14.

QUICK HITS
•    Georgetown is 3-4 to start the season after a pair of home tournaments on the Hilltop.
•    Elissa Barbosa and Jessica Cusi were both named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2019 Bulldog Invite.
•    Emma Plutnicki and Barbosa both tallied a pair of double-doubles over the weekend.
•    Barbsosa set career highs in back-to-back matches with 15 kills against Northern Kentucky and 17 kills against Stony Brook.
•    Plutnicki had double-doubles against Marshall and NKU while setting a personal best with 50 assists against Stony Brook.
•    Cusi had a career-high 29 digs against Stony Brook while Kelly Chen hauled in 20 digs against Marshall.

ROTATION NOTES
•    Seven different Hoyas are averaging at least a kill per set to start the 2019 season.
•    Iva Vujosevic leads the way with 3.83 kps, followed by Barbosa with 2.07 kps. Peyton Wilhite (1.81), Margo Snipe (1.67), Riley Wertzberger (1.60), Makayla Serrett (1.13) and Brennan Wilhite (1.04) round out the seven.
•    Four Hoyas average at least two digs per set, led by Cusi with 3.11 dps and followed by Vujosevic (3.08), Chen (2.68) and Barbosa (2.57)
•    Brennan Wilhite and Serrett are battling for the team lead in blocks, averaging 0.77 and 0.74 bps, respectively.
•    Plutnicki averages 8.04 assists per set while Margo Pivonka adds 4.08 a frame.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
•    Georgetown has history with all three opponents at the Colonial Classic, boasting a 12-6 combine record against trio.
•    The Hoyas are 2-0 all-time against Iona with four-set wins in 2007 and 2013.
•    Iona (0-7) is looking for its first win of the season and has won just one set on the year.
•    Jamie Smith leads the Gaels with 2.36 kps.
•    Georgetown and UNCG have only met once before, a 3-1 Hoya victory in 2009.
•    The Spartans are 5-2 to start the 2019 season but is coming off of a midweek loss to Duke.
•    Holly Behrends leads UNCG with 3.26 kps with three other Spartans adding at least two a frame.
•    Georgetown and William & Mary have played 15 times before in program history with the Hoyas owning a 9-6 series advantage.
•    The Tribe is playing its first matches at home after a pair of road tournaments and a 2-3 overall record.
•    Kate Dedrick and Lauren Merrill share the team lead with 2.55 kps for W&M.

Following the Colonial Classic, Georgetown returns home once again to host the 2019 Hoya Invitational on the Hilltop. The Blue & Gray welcomes Binghamton, Florida International and Morgan State to the Nation's Capital on Sept. 20-21. The weekend will also serve as Alumni Weekend for the Hoyas and Georgetown's first NCAA Tournament team from 1998 will be celebrated on Saturday.
