WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team evened its record to 4-4 on the season with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-10) victory over Iona to open the 2019 Colonial Classic, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia on Friday afternoon.

• Georgetown snapped a three-match losing streak with the sweep over the Gaels.

Following the Colonial Classic, Georgetown returns home once again to host the 2019 Hoya Invitational on the Hilltop. The Blue & Gray welcomes Binghamton, Florida International and Morgan State to the Nation's Capital on Sept. 20-21. The weekend will also serve as Alumni Weekend for the Hoyas and Georgetown's first NCAA Tournament team from 1998 will be celebrated on Saturday.
