WASHINGTON – Sophomore midfielder
Zach Riviere was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after the Hoyas went 2-0 last week. This marks the second player of the week honor for the Hoyas this season and the first of Riviere's career.
Riviere helped the Hoyas to a 2-0 week as he led the league offensively with 3.00 points per game. He started the week off with a hat trick at UCLA, leading Georgetown to a 5-1 victory on the West Coast. Georgetown finished the week with a 4-1 victory over UConn as it outscored its opponents 9-2 for the week.
Georgetown is now 5-0 on the season and sitting at No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll marking the first time the Hoyas have been in the top five since 2016.
The Hoyas will open BIG EAST Conference play on Friday as the squad travels to Butler for a 7 p.m. matchup at the Butler Bowl. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network and live stats will be available at GUHoyas.com.
