Georgetown Falls at No. 14 Creighton

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team dropped its first BIG EAST match of the season with a 3-1 (25-14, 25-18, 20-25, 25-18) loss at No. 14 Creighton on Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas fall to 11-5 overall and even their record to 1-1 in league play.

•    Georgetown snapped an eight-match winning streak, their longest in 20 seasons.
•    Creighton was the first ranked opponent that the Hoyas faced this season.
•    The loss is the first setback for the Hoyas on the road or at a neutral site this season.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
•    Iva Vujosevic led the Hoyas with a match-high 15 kills.
•    Peyton Wilhite added nine kills while Elissa Barbosa chipped in six.
•    Margo Pivonka had a double-double with 27 assists and 12 digs.
•    Jessica Cusi paced the Blue & Gray with 14 digs.
•    At the net, Wilhite led all players with five blocks while Makayla Serrett earned four.

CREIGHTON NOTES
•    Creighton improved to 9-3 overall and 2-0 in BIG EAST play.
•    Keeley Davis had 13 kills for the Bluejays while Megan Ballenger added 10.
•    Brittany Witt collected 20 digs and Jaela Zimmerman had 10.

SIDE OUT
Georgetown returns to the friendly confines of McDonough Arena over the weekend to open its home portion of BIG EAST play. The Hoyas welcome Butler to the Hilltop on Friday, Oct. 4 at 5 p.m. before taking on Xavier on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. Saturday's showdown against the Musketeers will also serve as Georgetown's DIG PINK! match.
