WASHINGTON –  Freshman midfielder Dante Polvara was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday as announced by the league offices.  The freshman is the first honoree for the Blue & Gray this season.
 
Polvara took two shots and scored the insurance goal in the 75th minute in a 3-1 win for then-No. 13 Georgetown against Syracuse on Friday. Playing midfield, he helped keep SU's shots on goal limited to five with 13 total shots in the contest.
 
Georgetown is 2-0 on the season after defeating Temple 3-0 on Monday afternoon at Shaw Field.  Polvara also scored in that contest.
 
The No. 6 Hoyas will head out west for a two-game road swing next weekend.  GU will face UC Irvine on Friday at 10 p.m. ET.  Live stats and a webcast will be available on GUHoyas.com.  Georgetown will battle UCLA on Monday evening at 8 p.m. ET, the game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
