WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's golf team finished in a tie for third place after the opening day of the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by BIG EAST foe Villanova. The Hoyas posted a two-round score of 572 to finish 4-over par and tie with Boston College in the standings on Monday at White Manor Country Club.

FIRST DAY HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
•    The Hoyas posted an opening round score of 291 and shaved 10 strokes off for a second round score of 281.
•    Freshman Pieter DeGroot closed out the day at even par, shooting 72 and 70 for 142 to place ninth overall.
•    Hardin Councill was 12th with rounds of 71 and 72.
•    With rounds of 76 and a team-best 68, David Rogers was 15th overall.
•    Eduardo Blochtein matched Rogers with a 144, shooting 73 and 71 on Monday.
•    Will O'Neill carded a 75 and 72 to place 20th to round out Georgetown's scoring.
•    Playing as an individual, Patrick DiPasquale shot rounds of 75 and 72 to sit 20th overall.

WHERE THE TEAM STANDS
•    Rhode Island (559) leads the seven-team field followed by Appalachian State (562). Boston College and Georgetown are tied for third with 572, followed by Villanova (577), Delaware (592) and St. John's (612).
•    The third and final round begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
•    Georgetown is paired with Appalachian State and Rhode Island, teeing off from hole No. 1.
