WASHINGTON – Playing its second-straight weekend in the friendly confines of McDonough Arena, Georgetown University's volleyball team opened the 2019 Bulldog Invite with a tough five-set setback against visiting Marshall. The Hoyas battled back from a two-set deficit to force a deciding fifth frame but couldn't complete the comeback in the 3-2 (25-16, 25-15, 15-25, 22-25, 15-10) loss.

Iva Vujosevic and
Emma Plutnicki both posted double-doubles for the Hoyas.
• Vujosevic had a match-high 22 kills to go with 11 digs.
• Plutnicki added a match-best 38 assists and added 13 digs. She also led the Blue & Gray with two service aces.

Riley Wertzberger also had double-digit kills with 11 while four other Hoyas had four kills in the match.

Kelly Chen hauled in a career-high 20 digs to lead all players.
Jessica Cusi added 11 digs as well.

Brennan Wilhite continued her impressive play at the net. She led all Hoyas with six blocks, including a pair of solo rejections.
