WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team wrapped up the second day of the 2019 Bulldog Invite  with a pair of tough defeats on Saturday at McDonough Arena. The Hoyas dropped the opener 3-1 (24-26, 25-16, 25-14, 25-22) to Northern Kentucky before falling to Stony Brook 3-2 (21-25, 25-19, 28-26, 23-25, 19-17) in a five-set thriller.
 
Northern Kentucky 3, Georgetown 1 (24-26, 25-16, 25-14, 25-22)
•    The Hoyas dropped a hard-fought match to Northern Kentucky to open play on Saturday.
•    Elissa Barbosa and Emma Plutnicki both tallied double-doubles for the Blue & Gray.
•    Barbosa posted 15 kills and 15 digs, both career highs, to lead the Hoyas.
•    Plutnicki recorded her third double-double of the season with 17 assists and 10 digs.
•    Iva Vujosevic added 14 digs while Jessica Cusi had 15.
•    Brennan Wilhite had a solid all-around match with five kills, four blocks and a pair of service aces.
•    Vujosevic had seven kills while Margo Snipe chipped in six.
 
Stony Brook 3, Georgetown 2 (21-25, 25-19, 28-26, 23-25, 19-17)
•    The Hoyas dropped the tournament finale in five sets, their third five-set match of the season.
•    Barbosa and Cusi were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
•    Barbosa posted her second-straight double-double with another career high in kills (17) and 10 digs.
•    Vujosevic and Peyton Wilhite both added 14 kills, a career high for Wilhite.
•    Cusi hauled in a career-high 29 digs while Plutnicki added a career-high 50 assists.

Georgetown hits the road for the first time this season as it travels to take part in the Colonial Classic, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia next weekend. The Hoyas take on Iona on Friday, Sept. 13 before going up against UNC Greensboro and the host Tribe on Saturday, Sept. 14.
