GRAY OUT: Georgetown Hosts Marquette on Saturday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team plays its second home game of the week as the Hoyas host Marquette to Capital One Arena on Saturday afternoon in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. The Blue & Gray comes in at 12-6 overall on the year and 2-3 in the BIG EAST.
 
GAMEDAY INFORMATION
  • Saturday's game will be broadcast on FS1 with Jeff Levering calling the play-by-play and Tarik Turner providing analysis.
  • The game can be heard locally on WOL 1450 AM with Rich Chvotkin in his 46th season on the call.

  • On Saturday, Georgetown will celebrate its annual GRAY OUT Presented by MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The entire lower bowl, including all 100- and 200-level seats will be blanketed with gray t-shirts for fans to wear during the game.
  • In conjunction with the BIG EAST Conference and in recognition of the incomparable impact that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made in his quest for national unity and social justice, Georgetown and Marquette will wear shooting shirts before the game that read, "We Cannot Walk Alone." The shooting shirts reflect the league's pledge to develop programming and initiatives that support diverse and inclusive environments for student-athletes, coaches, staff and communities.
  • Georgetown will hold its Annual Baby Race at halftime on Saturday.
  • The Hoyas will also recognize the NCAA Champion Georgetown men's soccer team as well as the 50th anniversary of Hoyas Unlimited.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Georgetown recorded its second win over a ranked opponent this season after defeating No. 25/RV Creighton 83-80 on Wednesday night at Capital One Arena.
  • Omer Yurtseven led five Hoyas in double figures with 20 points and he completed his ninth double-double of the season with a game-high 13 rebounds. He also added three assists and two blocks.
  • Mac McClung finished with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting, while Jagan Mosely and Terrell Allen chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively. Jahvon Blair contributed 12 points off the bench.
  • McClung and Allen led the offense with five assists apiece and Mosely added four.
  • Georgetown shot 51.7 percent from the floor and finished with 18 total assists.
 
ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Georgetown leads the BIG EAST in scoring (79.0 ppg) and is averaging 82.5 ppg at Capital One Arena.
  • Yurtseven leads the Hoyas with 16.7 ppg and 9.9 rpg, which both rank among the top five in the conference. McClung is second on the team in scoring with 16.1 ppg, which ranks seventh in the BIG EAST.
  • Blair is among Georgetown's career top 25 in 3-pointers made as his 110 career treys is 20th all-time. Mosely has 295 career assists which is 23rd on GU's career list.
 
SCOUTING MARQUETTE
  • Marquette enters Saturday at 12-5 overall and 2-3 in BIG EAST play following an 85-65 win over Xavier on Wednesday.
  • The Golden Eagles are averaging 77.2 ppg while allowing opponents to score 67.9 ppg.
  • Marcus Howard leads the country in scoring at 27.3 ppg. Sacar Anim is the only other player in double figures at 12.0 ppg.
  • Brendan Bailey is bulling down a team-high 5.4 rpg, and Howard leads with 47 assists.
 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Saturday will be the 28th all-time meeting between the Hoyas and Golden Eagles with all but two coming since Marquette joined the BIG EAST in 2006. The Hoyas trail the all-time series 14-13.
  • Last season, Georgetown and Marquette split the season series with both teams winning on the road by one possession.
  • The Hoyas defeated then-No. 16/15 Marquette 86-84 in Milwaukee to close out the regular season. McClung finished with 23 points, going 11-of-14 from the free throw line, while Jamorko Pickett was also in double figures with 10 points.
  • McClung also had 24 points in a 74-71 loss at Capital One Arena.
 
COMING UP NEXT
The Hoyas will travel to Cincinnati for a Wednesday night matchup at Xavier. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on FS1. Fans can listen locally on The Team 980 with Rich Chvotkin on the call.
