WASHINGTON –  The Georgetown University women's tennis team (0-1) suffered its first lost in the spring season opener 4-3 at Maryland (1-0). 

Olivia Ashton showed out well winning her singles match 6-0, 6-2 against Kate Yemelyanenka. Agata Mikos (1-6, 6-2, 6-0) and Elena De Santis (1-6, 6-2, 6-4) each came from behind in their last two sets, winning their matches to give the Hoyas three total points on the afternoon. 

This marked the first dual match for the Hoya women this year. GU will travel to Liberty (1-1) next Saturday, January 25 at 1 p.m.
