Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Hoyas Fall at Seton Hall

NEWARK, N.J. – The Georgetown University men's basketball team dropped a 78-62 decision to Seton Hall at the Prudential Center on Friday night to end a two-game road swing to open BIG EAST play. With the setback, the Hoyas slip to 10-5 overall with a 0-2 record in league action. The Pirates improve to 10-4 on the season with a 2-0 record in BIG EAST play.

ON THE RECORD
"We're disappointed. That's two games that we came out and didn't come out to the start that we needed ... We have to regroup, we have to come back. Tomorrow, we'll be off and get ready on Sunday for St. John's." - Head Coach Patrick Ewing

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
  • Mac McClung led the Hoyas with 20 points, his fifth 20-point effort of the season.
  • Jamorko Pickett was also in double figures with 10 points and tied a career high with nine rebounds.
  • Omer Yurtseven and Terrell Allen each finished with nine points while Qudus Wahab contributed eight rebounds off the bench.
  • Jagan Mosely paced the offense with four assists.
  • Georgetown forced 17 Seton Hall turnovers while committing just 11, but the Pirates outrebounded the Hoyas 42-38.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Georgetown battled early with McClung moving around Seton Hall defenders to knock down a layup on the left side. SHU tied up the ball game before an Allen triple and Yurtseven jumper put the Blue & Gray up 7-2.
  • The Pirates strung together a 13-2 run behind some hot perimeter shooting until back-to-back jumpers from Mosely and PIckett cut the deficit to two (15-13).
  • Another run from Seton Hall saw the Hoyas down by as many 20 down the stretch and trailed 41-24 at the break.
  • The Hoyas started off the second half with five quick points to cut the deficit to 12 behind shots from Allen and a 3-pointer from McClung.
  • Georgetown slipped behind again but a Pickett bucket sparked a 15-6 run with a balanced offense as Mosely, McClung, Yurtseven and Jahvon Blair all contributed to the effort. The Hoyas trimmed the lead to 61-50 forcing a Pirate timeout.
  • Seton Hall answered with a 10-0 run of its own and the Blue & Gray could not answer, falling 78-62.
