Women Tennis Pick up Tough Losses against Navy, JMU and Drexel

WASHINGTON –  The Georgetown University women's tennis team (1-6, 1-0 BIG EAST) struggled on the road at Navy (6-2) on Friday evening, falling 7-0. The Hoyas also fell short against James Madison (4-2) on Saturday at the Junior Tennis Championship Center 7-0 before losing at Yates Field House 4-2 against Drexel (4-1). 

Against Drexel: 

Last week's BIG EAST Tennis Athlete of the week, Agata Mikos defeated Ghita Benhadi from Drexel 7-6, 6-1. Freshman Olivia Ashton also picked up a win against Sarka Richterova (Drexel) 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 to give GU two points in the loss.

At Navy:

Against Navy, Ashton teamed up with Anna Short to pick up the lone doubles win, 7-5 at the top spot. It wasn't enough as Navy picked up the other two doubles matches to clinch the point. 

The Hoyas will battle Howard next on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m.
