THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Navy scored five runs over its final two at-bats to defeat the Georgetown University baseball team 6-2 on Saturday afternoon in a neutral site game at Finch Field. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 1-1 on the year while the Midshipmen move to 1-1.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
  • Anthony Redfern started on the mound and went 5.0 strong innings. He only allowed one unearned run on two hits while striking out four.
  • Michael Willis pitched 3.0 innings in relief, allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits in his first collegiate pitching appearance.
  • AJ Lotsis led the offense with a home run and two RBIs.
  • Freddy Achecar III was on base twice with a single and a walk.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Navy took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as an unearned run crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
  • The Hoyas answered right back in the top of the second as Kai Nelson led off with a double before Lotsis launched his second home run of the season over the center field fence to give GU a 2-1 lead.
  • The Blue & Gray held that advantage until the bottom of the seventh when Navy used a three-run homer to take a 4-2 lead. The Midshipmen tacked on two more runs in the eighth to provide the final 6-2 score.
