DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Georgetown University baseball team battled in cold conditions, but fell 5-0 in the series opener to Davidson on Friday night at Davidson's Wilson Field. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 1-4 on the season, while the Wildcats improve to 5-0.
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Carter Bosch made his second start of the year and went 6.0 innings, finishing with a career-high eight strikeouts. He allowed two runs on just three hits and one walk.
- Miller Freeman and Jack Weeks each struck out one in an inning of work.
- Ryan M. Davis doubled, while AJ Lotsis and Eddie McCabe both singled to provide the only offense for the Hoyas.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Davidson scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth with the benefit of only one hit.
- The score remained the same until the Wildcats tacked on three insurance runs in the eighth inning to provide the final score.
- The Hoyas had their best opportunity in the second inning as Davis hit a one-out double, but did not advance any further.
- McCabe singled to lead off the fourth and advanced to second on a wild pitch before being stranded there.

The two teams will resume their series on Saturday afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
