WASHINGTON – The No. 25 Georgetown University women's lacrosse team needed extra time but pulled out the 12-11 overtime victory over the University of Delaware Blue Hens Saturday afternoon at Cooper Field. The Hoyas trailed by as much as three goals in the second half, but mounted a comeback to get the win and to improve to 3-2 on the season.

How it Happened
- Delaware (0-3) opened the scoring with back-to-back goals before junior Caroline Frock's free position goal found the back of the cage at 16:57.
- The Blue Hens answered, but the Blue & Gray managed a 3-0 run when senior Liza Liotta, senior captain Michaela Bruno and sophomore Jordyn Sabourin all scored as senior Emily Ehle tallied a pair of assists for GU to take the lead.
- Delaware would come back and move ahead, but it was Sabourin again at 3:03 on another assist by Ehle to tie the game at five.
- The Blue Hens added two in the final minutes of the first half, but senior captain Natalia Lynch connected on a free position with four seconds on the clock to make the score 7-6 in favor of Delaware at the break.
- Defense became offense early in the second half as senior goalkeeper Micheline DiNardo made a big save and sent the outlet pass up the field. The Hoyas found sophomore Annabelle Albert who found the back of the cage at 22:42.
- The Blue Hens fought back with a 3-0 run, but GU answered with a quartet of its own.
- As junior Mary Pagano hit her first of the game, and Ehle battled through traffic for the score. Sophomore Ali Diamond tied the game at 10 off of a pass across the crease from Bruno and then Sabourin connected on the hat trick to give the Blue & Gray the lead.
- Delaware would tie it up again forcing the game into extra time.
- Georgetown had three good looks in the first three minutes of overtime, two which were off target and one that was saved by Delaware keeper Kate Brewster.
- The Hoyas would have another chance and Brewster continued to be tough. On the rebound, Bruno picked up the ball and sent it to Lynch. She looked to the middle and found a cutting Diamond who connected for the golden goal in overtime.
Of Note
- Sabourin had a career day with three goals, while Diamond managed two goals and an assist in the contest.
- Ehle scored a goal to go with two assists as nine different Hoyas scored a point in the win.s.
- GU outshot the Blue Hens 42-33, but had 14 turnovers to UD's 13.
- Georgetown held a 16-10 advantage in draw controls, but allowed Delaware to be 19-21 on clears while going 17-20.
- In the cage, DiNardo picked up the win with 15 stops and Brewster took the loss with 18 saves to her credit.
