WASHINGTON – Georgetown University women's tennis freshman Agata Mikos awarded BIG EAST Tennis Athlete of the Week after a strong showing this past weekend.
"I am so honored to have earned BIG EAST player of the week, and I look forward to building on this and achieving more success with my team." said Mikos.
Mikos compiled a 3-1 weekend as the Hoyas went 1-1 in dual match play. Mikos posted a perfect 2-0 outing at No. 2 singles including a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 victory over Stephanie Dolehide of Army and a straight set triumph over Seton Hall's Minja Gligic with 6-1, 6-1 scores. The rookie teamed up with
Olivia Ashton in No. 1 doubles action to post a 1-1 mark highlighted by a 6-1 victory over Seton Hall's Kaur and Ventosa.

The Hoyas will visit the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 12:30 p.m. GU will then host James Madison on Sunday Feb. 9 at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in their home opener, followed by a home meeting against the Drexel Dragons on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
