Baseball Falls to William & Mary

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to William & Mary 13-2 on Sunday afternoon in Williamsburg, Virginia. With the loss, the Hoyas slip to 3-8 on the season, while the Tribe improve to 4-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Tribe opened up an early 8-0 lead with three runs in the first and five in the third.
  • Nolan Matsko drew a bases-loaded walk to put the Hoyas on the board in the fourth, but William & Mary responded with four in the bottom half of the inning to go up 12-1.
  • In the fifth, Alex Rosen doubled before Simourian delivered an RBI single.
  • William & Mary completed the scoring with a run in the sixth.
 
COMING UP NEXT
The Hoyas will play their home opener at Shirley Povich Field on Tuesday afternoon when they welcome Coppin State for a 3 p.m. game. Live stats and a video stream will be available at GUHoyas.com. Georgetown will then depart for its 10-day, eight-game Spring Break trip to the Snowbird Baseball Classic in Florida.
