OMAHA, Neb. – Despite four players in double figures, including the first career double-double by
Qudus Wahab, the Georgetown University men's basketball team fell at No. 11/14 Creighton 91-76 on Wednesday night in a BIG EAST Conference game at CHI Health Center Omaha. With the setback, Georgetown slips to 15-15 overall and 5-12 in BIG EAST play. Creighton improves to 23-7 on the season and 12-5 in league action.
ON THE RECORD
"They were getting everything. They were getting 3's, they were also getting drives to the basket. In the first half, I think they had 14 second-chance points. When they are getting everything, it's hard to beat them. When you lose two guys - either one of them can get 30 on any given night - it's hard. So we're trying to manufacture points. We have one more game and it's going to be a tough game but anything can happen. Then it's the new season. The new season starts at the BIG EAST Tournament. Anything can happen in the BIG EAST Tournament." - Head Coach
Patrick Ewing

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hoyas trailed by just one (6-5) after a Mosely layup and Pickett 3-pointer, but Creighton used an 8-0 run to go up 14-5.
- Georgetown began feeding the ball inside and a 15-7 run fueled by eight points from Wahab made it a one-point game (21-20).
- Creighton would use multiple runs to open a 40-23 lead and the Hoyas went into the break trailing 48-33.
- The Bluejay lead ballooned to 21 early in the second (62-41; 14:20) before the Hoyas tallied eight unanswered behind triples form Pickett and Allen followed by a Mosely bucket to cut the deficit to 13.
- Blair drained a trio from the charity stripe to one again pull the Hoyas within 13, but that's as close as the Blue & Gray would get as Creighton went on to seal the 91-76 victory.
