Volleyball Falls at Xavier

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (17-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-22) road decision at Xavier in BIG EAST action on Friday night. The Hoyas fall to 5-13 overall and 1-6 in league play while the Musketeers improve to 10-8 overall and 5-2 in the BIG EAST.

"Peyton and Brennan were a great spark for us tonight, both leading us in kills," Head Coach David Heller said. "Brennan was an emotional leader for us on the court tonight and produced when we needed her. There was a great first set and we came out on fire. Our serving and defense put us in a great position in the first two sets. We let our foot off the gas pedal a bit and some untimely errors wore us down in the end of set four. But one thing I love about this team is our resilience. Jess went back for another 25-dig performance. Giselle added a nice match for us on the outside. Makana [Meyer] and Ellie [Watkins] added great value when they went in tonight. Makana had a huge block for us and Ellie had some great defense in right back. Now we get another crack at Butler and we are prepared."

Hoya Highlights
  • Peyton Wilhite led the Georgetown offense with 13 kills to go with eight digs while Brennan Wilhite added 12 kills and hit at a .462 clip without committing an attack error.
