Squash Announces Inaugural Schedule, Presented by MedStar Health

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's squash team has released its inaugural season schedule, presented by MedStar Health, as announced by Head Coach Tim Lasusa on Thursday. The Hoyas take the court as a varsity program for the first time in the 2021-22 campaign.

"College Squash has been put on hold for over a year, but everyone is excited to see its return," Head Coach Tim Lasusa said. "For us, it is perfect timing as it's the start of a new beginning and we look to make an impact in our first year. The squash world is excited to see us compete and I know the team is chomping at the bit to get out there."

  • The Hoyas open the season in Annapolis, Maryland by taking on Boston University and Denison on November 13 and 14, respectively.
  • Georgetown then heads down to Charlottesville, Virginia to face the host Cavaliers and Dartmouth on December 4 before battling Franklin & Marshall and Richmond on December 5 to close out the fall semester slate.
  • Restarting competition in the spring semester, the Blue & Gray hosts their lone home match against Tufts on January 11 at Squash on Fire in the District.
  • A weekend excursion to Western Mass has the Hoyas playing at Mount Holyoke on January 15 before taking on Wesleyan and Connecticut College in Amherst on January 16.
  • Georgetown faces Bowdoin in Annapolis on January 21 before closing out the weekend in Philadelphia at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center against Colby and St. Lawrence on January 22 and 23, respectively.
  • A day of competition at Haverford and against Vassar on January 29 serves as GU's final tune-up before the Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship in Lancaster, Pennsylvania the weekend of February 4-6.
  • The Hoyas then have a lone mid-month match against Dickinson in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on February 13 to stay fresh for action as they look to close out their first season of competition at the College Squash Association National Championships in Boston the weekend of February 26-28.

Georgetown is in its first season of competition under Head Coach Tim Lasusa. The Hoyas have 15 players on their inaugural roster, including nine standouts that transitioned from the club team on the Hilltop.
