Second Round of Play Suspended Due to Darkness at Palmetto Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team sits in 10th place after the first round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate. Second round play had to be suspended due to darkness as some groups were through 18 and others only 14 or so. Round two will finish tomorrow, and round three will begin at the conclusion. Round three will be with the same pairings as used for the first two rounds. 

Shotgun start will begin at 9:00am. The three-round tournament is being played at the Turtle Point Golf Course par 72 6005 yards. A link for live scoring will be available at GUHoyas.com

HOYA RESULTS

  • Sophomore Megan Gormley finished with a career best 4-under par 68 in round one. 

  •  Junior Lauren May carded a 2-over par 74 in round one. 

  • Junior Esther Park shot an 82 in the first round of play.

  • Senior Kaityln Lees carded an even par 72 in round one. 

  • Sophomore Gabriella finished round one with a 3-over par 75. 

TOURNAMENT LEADERS

  • North Florida is in the lead (-13, 278) with Sam Houston State (-6, 284) in second and Xavier (-2, 286) in third. 

  • Leaderboard subject to change due to suspension of play.

COMING UP

The Hoyas will wrap up the second round, and then finish the third and final round of play at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
