Georgetown Closes Fall Slate With 10th Place Finish in Palmetto Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. The Hoyas carded a final score of 23-over par 887 with scores of 289, 294 and 304 through the three rounds of play. The tournament was played at the Turtle Point Golf Course par 72 6005 yards. This was the final tournament of the fall for the Hoyas, and they will return to action during the spring season.

HOYA RESULTS

  • Sophomore Megan Gormley was GU's top scorer as she finished tied for eighth with a total score of 215 that included a career best 4-under par 68 in round one. 

  • Senior Kaitlyn Lees finished tied for 25th with scores of 72, 73 and 76 for a total of 221.

  • Sophomore Gabriella Gilrowski placed tied for 28th with scores of 75, 74 and 73 for a total of 222.

  • Junior Lauren May carded scores of 74, 73 and 84 for a total of 231.

  • Junior Esther Park finished the tournament with scores of 82, 77 and 82 for a total of 241. 

 

TOURNAMENT LEADERS

  • North Florida won the tournament (-8, 856) with South Florida placing second (+3, 867) and Sam Houston State (+6, 870) in third. 

  • Georgetown finished one stroke behind Jacksonville St. (+22, 886) and eight strokes ahead of East Carolina (+31, 895).
